About this Book What do you hear when you're about to fall asleep? Maybe the familiar noises of the family and home, or the muffled voices and humming pipes, or even the screeching of foxes. When you wake up, you start to hear gentle birdsongs as the city wakes up again. Filled with vivid illustrations, Emily Rand takes you on a gentle journey through the night, looking at all the sounds and activity that happen while you’re tucked up warm in your bed!
Reviews from Around the World "I got this book for my 3 year old daughter, we live on a busy road in a big city and there is always so much going on at bed time, so this book is a brilliant description of that phase of the day. The illustrations are beautifully detailed, we spend time looking at all the little things and patterns, it's wonderful. The text is also beautiful. I also really like how the book is inclusive and sensitive to the variety of activities and gender roles described in it. The colours are particularly exciting too (and the good printing quality makes them stand out) as it's relatively unusual to have a children's book with dark tones; each page really immerses you in the night very effectively. I would imagine it will have an impact on our daughter's future depiction of night/darkness in her drawings." - Miss G Ricci, Amazon
